Withdrawal from the doctorate

If you wish to withdraw from your doctorate, discuss this directly with the supervisor of your doctoral thesis. Together, you will decide on the withdrawal date and record this in writing in an informal declaration of mutual agreement to terminate the doctorate.

An early withdrawal must be reported to the ETH Doctoral Administration Office using the form Declaration of withdrawal for doctoral students. The de?registration will only be carried out after this form has been submitted.

If necessary, make a written agreement with your current supervisor regarding the results already achieved, research data, and authorship.
